Creating safe spaces: Establishing “violet points ” in public areas
Project Goals:
1. Facilitate the transfer of knowledge and accumulated experience in the implementation and development of Violet Points.
2. Develop specific skills related to victim support, volunteer coordination, establishment of action protocols, etc.
3. Establish connections between organizations, professionals, and volunteers from different countries who work in the field of gender equality and the prevention of gender-based violence.
4. Create educational materials, guides, and resources that can be used by professionals and volunteers for effective implementation in their local contexts.
5. Promote civic participation and youth activism.
Results:
1. Creating safe spaces: Establishing “violet points ” in public areas frequently visited by young people (such as festivals and sporting events), providing places where they can feel safe and receive support in case of abuse or aggression.
2. Training youth workers: Offering specialized training to youth workers to enhance their skills in preventing and addressing gender based violence, as well as promoting healthy relationships among young people.
3. Youth empowerment: Actively involving young people in the design, implementation, and evaluation of initiatives related to “violet points ” , encouraging their role as change agents in their communities.
4. Intergenerational collaboration: Promoting dialogue and cooperation between generations, engaging youth, community leaders, and local authorities to work together in the eradication of gender-based violence.
